Not My Will (Print)

" Not My Will"

Luke 22:39–46

Before there was a cross to endure,
there was a cup to accept.

That cup held more than suffering.

More than nails.

More than death.

It held the judgment our sin deserved.

The Shepherd would bear the penalty for His sheep.

The innocent for the guilty.

He knew what obedience would cost.

And still He chose the will of the Father.

What love for His Father.

What love for us.

There in the garden, in agony before His Father, the Son surrendered His will:

“Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.”
